IPEM go-live on MemEx Member Portal
IPEM, the professional organisation that represents over 4,600 physicists, engineers, and technologist members, partnered with Wattle to implement a truly transformational Member Portal.
Over the last 6 months the combined IPEM and Wattle teams worked closely together to configure the Member Portal element of MemEx, our Membership Experience Platform, to deliver self-service and transformational engagement across a range of membership processes to the Institutes members and volunteers.
Introducing IPEM
The Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is a professional organisation and charity with over 4,600 members, dedicated to promoting the application of physics and engineering principles to medicine and healthcare.
Their mission is to improve health through Physics and Engineering in Medicine. The Institute’s vision is one in which professionalism drives improvements in diagnosis, treatment, and care, transforming the lives of patients. Their members, the professional community of medical physicists, biomedical engineers, and clinical technologists working in hospitals, academia and industry around the world are the people who deliver on the mission and vision.
A Digital Gateway for Members
IPEM are currently engaged in a project to introduce a new Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) CRM system. Wattle partnered closely with IPEM, and their CRM partner Total Enterprise Solutions, to ensure the Institutes new MemEx Member Portal was seamlessly integrated.
The MemEx Member Portal now acts as a gateway into the new D365 CRM for IPEM’s members and volunteers, enabling them to self-serve across a range of membership processes, including renewing their membership, paying outstanding invoices, submitting expense claims, updating their personal information (including EDI data), managing their communication preferences in line with GDPR, and viewing their upcoming tasks and appointments.
Transformative Member Engagement
In addition to core membership processes, the Institutes MemEx Member Portal offers feature rich functionality to boost engagement and retention among IPEM members, through:
The MemEx Member Portal was configured based on user personas, offering IPEM the ability to control which user types have access to each area of the portal.
What do IPEM think?
“I’ve been really impressed with the Wattle team and we're delighted to be strengthening our partnership with Wattle with the delivery of our member-facing and public-facing platforms to deliver value and positive impact for our stakeholders, drive strategic engagement, and achieve our charitable object through our digital platforms. Wattle have been a fantastic partner over the past 12 months, and we're delighted to continue this partnership into the future.”
Paul James, Director of Communities, Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine.
What's Next?
With the MemEx Member Portal now live, and a raft of further portal developments underway, Wattle have also onboarded the Institutes existing Umbraco CMS website from incumbent provider Cantarus. Wattle are now supporting the website and will commence an upgrade from Umbraco v8 to v13 shortly.
