Discounted Microsoft Dynamics 365 Licenses for Charities & Non-Profits

For this reason, Microsoft have a range of discounted licenses that allow registered charities or organisations that are registered as tax-exempt with HMRC to take advantage of much lower prices for Microsoft products, including Office 365, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365.

The level of discount offered by Microsoft for Dynamics 365 and Power Apps licensing to non-profits means that your organisation can focus on its critical mission without having to worry about the technology.

Who are these discounts for?

Non-profit organisations in the UK may be eligible for discounted Dynamics 365 licenses. This can apply to non-profit or non-governmental organisations that have recognised charitable status and / or are tax exempt from HM Revenue & Customs.

There are different processes for obtaining proof of charitable status within the UK:

• In England and Wales, your organisation must be registered with the UK Charity Commission
• Organisations located in Scotland must be registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
• Organisations located in Northern Ireland must be registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI)

What are the discounts?

Discounts apply to all eligible user licenses and there is no limit to the number of users. Dynamics 365 and Power Apps are licensed based on how users will access the software and what level of access they need.

Eligible non-profit organisations benefit from:

• Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise free for up to 5 users and discounted pricing of £17.90 per user / month for additional users, which is 75% off the retail price
• Power Apps free for up to 10 users (the “Per App” plan) and discounted pricing of £1.89 per user / month for additional users, which is 75% off the retail price

What are the eligibility criteria?

Microsoft have outlined the eligibility criteria for non-profits to be able to apply for discounted licences. In order to qualify your organisation must meet all 5 of Microsoft’s eligibility criteria:

• User Licensing
• License Restrictions
• Non-Discrimination

Spoiler Alert

Eligibility is not an exact science. Some membership organisations, currently defined by Microsoft as 'Professional, Commerce and Trade Associations', may not be eligible for discounted licenses. To ascertain whether this is the case for your organisation we recommend you register here with Microsoft and progress through the eligibility process.
